Cornerstone Studios chief engineer is Steve Falke. Steve has been actively involved in all aspects of the music industry for over twenty-three years and has been CEO of the Golden Plains Group since it's formation in 1989. He has engineered and/or produced over 150 full length releases (see the discography page for a partial listing) along with countless demos and smaller projects. He has also performed mastering duties for many releases by various record labels. Steve has consistently produced sought after work for the advertising industry as well winning many ADDY and Silver Microphone awards for his original music compositions and jingles. Steve's training as an audio engineer has been very extensive. While growing up, Steve spent six years as a studio apprentice through junior and senior high school before graduating from Clearwater High School in Cleartwater, KS. He then went on to earn a diploma in the recording arts from The Recording Workshop in Chillicothe, OH and studied at prestigious Berklee School of Music in Boston before earning Associate of Arts degrees in music as well as audio engineering under the tutelage of Mr. Timothy Miller at Northeast Community College in Norfolk, NE. After graduating, he toured with christian rock group Sideshow as their front of house sound engineer performing background vocals for the group while handling his live show mixing duties. During this time period Steve was priveleged to have worked with many notable contemporary christian artists such as Geoff Moore and the Distance, Morgan Cryer, Petra and Bryan

Duncan to name a few. In 1989 he started Cornerstone Studios which went on to become The Golden Plains Group, Inc. with the addition of Crimson Heart Records and Golden Plains Publishing. In 1995 he was recognized by the Small Business Administration as their Young Entrepreneur of the Year for Wichita and again in 1998 by the Wichita Business Journal as one of the Top 40 under 40 business executives in Wichita. Steve has also been actively involved as a member of the Board of Directors of the American Advertising Federation of Wichita since 1995, serving as the President of the organization in 2000-2001. In addition, he has volunteered his expertise on the board of directors of the communications council of Inter-Faith Ministries in Wichita. He and his wife Julia enjoy their time together traveling and working on old houses. They have been happily married for thirteen years and although child-free at this point in their lives they both love children and enjoy "hanging out" with their "kids" of the four-legged variety - two cats - Alesis & Peepers - and two dogs - Ginger & Sassy.
